This warning message was removed since version 1.

XtraFinder does not automatically update

XtraFinder automatically checks for update only. You need to manually download and install XtraFinder.

How to register

Restart XtraFinder, the Register window will show up.

Serial number is invalid

Please carefully copy and paste your license information directly from the license email. The email is case sensitive.
Provided license information is ALWAYS correct.
There has never been an exception.

Forget your serial number

Please search your mail boxes for "XtraFinder" phrase to find your license email. If it was lost, contact us.
Please note that XtraFinder was free before version 1.

What is difference between free trial and registered version

There is no difference in functionality. In free trial version, "Trial" window shows up when XtraFinder starts.

XtraFinder shows Preferences window at login

XtraFinder is duplicated in Login Items. Open System Preferences → Users → Login Items, remove duplicated XtraFinder from the list.

How to access XtraFinder Preferences

XtraFinder does not save opened tabs

Open XtraFinder's Preferences → Tabs → turn on Save open tabs when quitting Finder.

Workaround for OS X 10.11 - 10.14

It is required to disable System Integrity Protection in order to install XtraFinder on OS X 10.11 - 10.14.
On OS X 10.11 and 10.13, you can re-enable SIP after installation.
On OS X 10.14 Mojave, you can re-enable SIP after installation if you install version For Mojave with SIP enabled.
On OS X 10.12, XtraFinder does not work if SIP is fully enabled.

Why System Integrity Protection needs be disabled to install XtraFinder.

XtraFinder contains two components: XtraFinderInjector.osax and XtraFinder.app.
XtraFinderInjector.osax must be copied to directory /System/Library/ScriptingAdditions, this is done by XtraFinderInstaller.
Since OS X 10.11, System Integrity Protection blocks copying file to directory /System.

XtraFinder works by injecting its code into Finder application process by utilizing Scripting Addition.
Since OS X 10.14 Mojave, System Integrity Protection blocks third-party Scripting Addition.
Version For Mojave with SIP enabled uses a different approach and works with SIP enabled.

Steps to disable System Integrity Protection

1. Boot to Recovery OS by restarting your machine and holding down the Command and R keys at startup.
2. Launch Terminal from the Utilities menu.
3. Enter the following command: csrutil disable
4. Reboot your computer.

To revert System Integrity Protection to original state

Boot to Recovery OS and enter the following command: csrutil clear

XtraFinder does not work after re-enable System Integrity Protection

Though XtraFinder was tested and confirmed working on OS X 10.11 10.13 after re-enable SIP, that is not guaranteed.
On OS X 10.12, XtraFinder does not work if SIP is fully enabled.
You can try enable SIP partially.
Boot to Recovery OS and enter the following command: csrutil enable --without fs
